Hero MotoCorp reports robust festive sales with higher demand from rural areas

To augment the sales, the company is planning to aggressively expand the Premia store network from 40 to more than 100 by this fiscal end.
New Delhi:
India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, expects the strong festive season to continue beyond ‘festivals’. The company, which recorded its highest-ever festive sales is optimistic about growing demand and has robust plans for expansion in the coming months.

Hero MotoCorp clocked INR 10,000 crore revenue for the first time, registering its highest-ever profit after tax (PAT) with 36% growth Y-o-Y. Demand is driven by both urban and rural areas; however, it was higher from the rural side, stated Niranjan Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, of Hero MotoCorp, during the post-earnings call.

The company which clocked 13% growth Y-o-Y during the 32 days of festivals, has reported double-digit rises from both areas. The wedding season and increase in rural demand will boost sales for the upcoming months, stated the management.

Expansion plans

The company which has performed well in the 100-110cc segment over the years, is now gearing up to make its presence in the premium market. It has planned multiple launches in the coming months and is expanding its retail experience under the Premia and Hero 2.0 brands.

To augment the sales, the company is planning to aggressively expand the Premia store network from 40 to more than 100 by this fiscal end. The company currently has 500 Hero 2.0 stores and is eying in the 125 cc segment.

Along with this company is planning to diversify its portfolio with multiple launches in the upcoming quarters with a focus on VIDA, the company’s electric scooters. “Our new range of products which are going to be launched, we are expecting all of them to be PLI compliant,” Gupta. However, it is expected to be from November 2025.

On the exports front, the company has observed steady growth, however, it has faced a ‘setback’ from Bangladesh. “Bangladesh is a setback, but right now the focus on Bangladesh is around people, taking care of the people,” Gupta.

Hero MotoCorp has recently entered into Southeast Asia, Columbia, Philippines, and Brazil markets.
