Allegro MicroSystems expands R&D facility in Hyderabad, boosting Telangana's semiconductor ecosystem

Allegro MicroSystems’ expansion aligns with Hyderabad’s robust infrastructure, skilled talent pool, and supportive government initiatives.
Allegro MicroSystems, a global leader in magnetic sensing and power IC solutions, has chosen Hyderabad, India for its new state-of-the-art Research & Development (R&D) facility. The facility, already employing nearly 100 highly skilled professionals, is projected to reach 500 employees soon.

This expansion highlights Telangana’s strategic role in building a world-class semiconductor ecosystem and Allegro MicroSystems' commitment to advancing India’s semiconductor vision. Duddila Sridhar Babu, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, and Industries, Government of Telangana, welcomed the leadership team from Allegro MicroSystems and expressed the Telangana government’s support for the project.

What does it indicate?

Allegro MicroSystems’ expansion aligns with Hyderabad’s robust infrastructure, skilled talent pool, and supportive government initiatives. The new facility will be a Centre of Excellence on analog and mixed signal design, verification and validation for the EV, automotive, and robotic automation markets. This positions Hyderabad as a leader in emerging technology solutions and drives advanced technological development in these sectors.

Allegro MicroSystems is a key supplier to top automotive brands like BMW and other leading EV manufacturers. They bring expertise in battery management, EV powertrain, future mobility solutions and autonomous vehicle solutions. This expertise will help Telangana build the technological capabilities needed to support the booming EV manufacturing sector in both the state and the country, particularly as India focuses on EV adoption.
