In a move to control the growing fake number plates in the city, the Gurugram police has collaborated with Staqu Technologie. As per the details shared by the brand, steps have been taken to implement an AI-powered vehicle number plate recognition system at multiple locations to catch offenders.

It will contribute to lowering the fake plate scenarios, and will reduce the increasing crime on wheels by catching the culprits using existing CCTV. Staqu’s proprietary JARVIS platform works as an identifier and sends real-time alerts to the relevant authorities and ground zero officers.

It has been informed by the company via official release that the existing CCTV cameras, which are installed at key locations in the city have been integrated with Staqu’s cutting-edge AI technology. This will allow the officials to catch suspicious number plates after analysing the data with RTO. The initiative marks a significant advancement in enhancing Gurugram’s security framework.

Can Contribute in Multiple Ways

It will also help instantly cross-reference number plates with government records, identifying if the vehicles are stolen, blacklisted or using fake number plates etc.

In addition to improved vehicle monitoring, the technology has already helped the police identify 1500 vehicles within 2 days of deployment just from two of the “ Police nakas”/ crossroads in real-time.
