Itaru Otani has been appointed as the new Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, effective immediately. Otani, with over three decades of experience at Yamaha Motor Company, has held leadership roles in various countries such as Australia, Brazil, and Japan. He aims to leverage his expertise to enhance Yamaha’s position in the dynamic Indian two-wheeler market.

Driving growth for the company

His primary focus will be on promoting stylish and sporty two-wheelers that meet the market’s expectations and set new benchmarks in design, quality, and innovation. Otani is keen to further strengthen Yamaha in India under the "The Call of the Blue" brand campaign and drive forward their long-term vision.

Otani’s leadership is expected to open new avenues for growth and bring more exciting products to Indian riders, aligning Yamaha’s global experience with local market needs.

Past experience

Prior to this appointment, Otani served as Chief General Manager, leading the Land Mobility Business Operations in Japan. His extensive background in Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy, particularly in the Motorcycle Business Operations, positions him well for this new role in India.
