Exports for Maruti Suzuki India also saw significant growth, with 33,168 units shipped in October, a substantial increase from 21,951 units in the same month last year.Maruti Suzuki India reported its highest ever monthly sales in October 2024 with 2,06,434 units sold, marking a 4% year-on-year growth compared to last October’s 1,99,217 units. Despite an overall increase, domestic passenger vehicle sales saw a 5% decline, with sales at 1,59,591 units compared to 1,68,047 in the same period last year.
Maruti Suzuki India's sales data showed a mixed performance across segments. The mini segment, including Alto and S-Presso, experienced a decrease in sales, with 10,687 units sold versus 14,568 units in October 2022. Compact car sales, comprising models like Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, also fell to 65,948 units from 80,662 units in the previous year.
Increase in UV segment sales
However, sales in the utility vehicle segment improved, with models such as Brezza, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and XL6 recording 70,644 units sold last month, up from 59,147 units a year ago. The van Eeco registered sales of 11,653 units in October compared to 12,975 units in the same month last year.
The light commercial vehicle Super Carry saw a slight decrease in sales, standing at 3,539 units compared to 3,894 units previously.
