The France-based carmaker Citroen had successfully launched the Coupe SUV Basalt in India recently. The company has sent the car for the crash test by Bharat NCAP, where the model has scored an impressive 4-star rating.

As per the crash test, the vehicle has been given 26.19 points for adult passengers, while 35.90 has been received for child occupant protection.

According to the crash details, Basalt somehow has taken big impacts easily, offering decent protection to the neck and during the frontal offset deformable barrier test.

Amid this, the driver’s side seat has reported marginal protection to the upper leg and chest. When it comes to the other passengers, they showed satisfactory results on the chest and upper leg.

When it was forced to go through the side movable deformable barrier and side pole impact, Basalt showed good protection.

It is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates a maximum power of 81 bhp and 115 Nm. It is also can be purchased in 1.2-litre turbo-petrol that churns out a maximum power of 108 bhp and 190 Nm.
