JSW MG Motor India marked a significant milestone by delivering over 100 electric vehicles (EVs) in Delhi-NCR on Dhanteras. The company distributed more than 100 units of its EV models, including MG Windsor, MG ZS EV, and MG Comet. This move emphasizes the increasing demand and enthusiasm of car buyers for MG's EV offerings.
MG Windsor bookings
The MG Windsor has notably achieved over 15,176 bookings within 24 hours of its launch, making it the first passenger EV in India to hit such a milestone. The MG Windsor blends the comfort of a sedan with the spaciousness of an SUV. It features an innovative aerodynamic design, luxurious interiors, smart connectivity, and a range of up to 332 kilometers.
MG Comet
The MG Comet, referred to as the Street-Smart Car, is designed to be big on the inside and compact on the outside (BICO). It includes more than 55 connected features and i-SMART technology, and its small turning radius aids maneuverability in tight spaces, making city driving easier. On the other hand, the MG ZS EV boasts premium features and spacious interiors with i-SMART technology and over 75 connected features. This model offers a range of 461 kilometers, suitable for long family drives.
B-a-a-s model
In addition to these models, JSW MG Motor India has introduced the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership plan, which allows customers to lower the initial cost of acquiring an EV by renting the battery instead of purchasing it upfront. This program reduces per-kilometer expenses and provides a more economical ownership experience. Under the BaaS program, the MG Windsor is available for INR 9.99 Lakhs plus a battery rental of INR 3.5 per kilometer, the MG Comet EV starts at INR 4.99 Lakh with a battery rental of INR 2.5 per kilometer, and the MG ZS EV comes at INR 13.99 Lakh plus a battery rental of INR 4.5 per kilometer.
eHUB
JSW MG Motor has made strides to enhance the EV ecosystem with several pioneering innovations. These include the eHUB by MG app, the industry's first and largest OEM charging platform.
The eHUB by MG app has been downloaded more than 22,000 times. It integrates with over 28 leading charge-point operators, covering about 80 percent of the country's charging network. This app allows EV owners to locate charging stations, reserve spots, start charging, and make payments through a single platform. It has seen over 40,000 planned trips and facilitated about 25 million green kilometers, illustrating its importance in supporting green mobility across India.
