Gromax Agri Equipment, formerly known as Mahindra Gujarat Tractor, has launched its new tractor range to mark its 25th anniversary. The company is a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra and the Government of Gujarat.
The farm-equipment maker has launched new 4WD tractor models, the Trakstar 525 and Trakstar 536, alongside new 2WD variants in 24HP, 31HP, and 36HP categories aimed at the orchard segment. The company has also introduced tractor models in saffron and black colour schemes to appeal to younger farmers and stand out in the market.
Rebranding trail
The company was renamed Mahindra Gujarat Tractor in 1999 when Mahindra took a majority stake in the business. It was further rebranded as Gromax Agri Equipment in 2017, reflecting a strategic shift towards offering an affordable and diverse range of agricultural machinery to India’s farming community.
Over the past 25 years, Gromax has expanded its tractor portfolio from just four models to over 40 variants in the 20-50HP range. This includes tractors under the Trakstar and Hindustan brands, along with farm implements under the Trakmate brand.
Hemant Sikka – President, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd said, "We express our sincere gratitude to our customers, partners and the Government of Gujarat, as well as our employees who have supported us through this journey. As we move forward, we look forward to the next chapter of growth with Gromax, as we further aim to enable Indian farmers in mechanising their farms.”
