Greater Noida Authority to set up 15 stations to charge electric vehicles in 20 minutes

Prerna Singh, GNIDA additional CEO added that the stations will be equipped with fast-charging facilities to serve more vehicles and will be built at locations with good parking space.
Greater Noida Authority is set to install 15 new stations for electric vehicles, promising full charging within 15-20 minutes.

These stations will be located near commercial complexes, parks, and other high-footfall areas to ensure better accessibility.

GNIDA is expected to outsource the task to a private company that may receive a 10-year license and will be required to share a portion of the revenue generated from these facilities with the Authority. It is evaluating various operational models to keep the user charges affordable while promoting wider EV adoption.

Officials confirmed that these charging stations will require minimal space, occupying less than 50 square meters each. They will be equipped with multiple nozzles to allow simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles, ensuring efficient service. Fast-charging capabilities will be integrated to reduce wait times, and digital payment options, including e-wallets, will be available for user convenience.

Prerna Singh, GNIDA additional CEO added that the stations will be equipped with fast-charging facilities to serve more vehicles and will be built at locations with good parking space.

She added that the goal is to implement a model that keeps user fees low while ensuring the project remains financially viable and a high-level meeting is expected to be convened soon to give a nod to the operating company.

Proposed sites include Alpha-2, Jagat Farm, and Noida Expressway, which are high-traffic zones, making them strategic choices for EV infrastructure. Each location is expected to have three charging points.

Additionally, stations have been planned near institutions such as the Government Institute of Medical Sciences. Educational and sports facilities like NIET College in Knowledge Park-2 and at SVSP Stadium have also been considered in the planning. Stations are expected to be installed at Alpha-1 Commercial Belt, near Expo Mart, City Park, Delta-1, Ansal Plaza, and the RERA Office.
