Mahindra and Anduril Industries forge strategic partnership for advanced autonomous maritime systems

This partnership seeks to strengthen regional security by deploying advanced autonomous solutions for maritime operations.
Mahindra Group and Anduril Industries announced a strategic partnership to co-develop and co-produce autonomous maritime systems, counter-drone technologies, and command and control software. This collaboration aims to enhance regional security through next-generation autonomous solutions. The partnership was announced today and will focus on developing autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), counter-unmanned aerial systems (CUAS), and a sensor fusion platform.

“Partnering with Anduril Industries marks a significant milestone in Mahindra Group’s commitment to developing advanced security and autonomous technologies. This collaboration combines our deep engineering expertise with Anduril’s innovative solutions to deliver cutting-edge capabilities that enhance security and address emerging threats,” mentioned Vinod Sahay, Group Executive Board Member, Mahindra Group.

What does it indicate?

This partnership seeks to strengthen regional security by deploying advanced autonomous solutions for maritime operations. The companies will work together to develop modular AUVs for security, surveillance, survey, and reconnaissance missions. They will also develop advanced CUAS technologies to detect and neutralize drone threats.

The collaboration will also focus on developing a sensor fusion platform. This platform will integrate multiple sensor technologies into a flexible, open API architecture. This will streamline integration processes and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies for complex security programs. The joint effort will enhance underwater operational capabilities and provide enhanced protection against unmanned aerial systems.

To enhance underwater operational capabilities

The AUVs will be designed for rapid deployment and will significantly enhance underwater operational capabilities. The CUAS technologies will provide enhanced protection against unmanned aerial systems by detecting and neutralizing drone threats. The sensor fusion platform will improve integration and accelerate adoption of advanced technologies.

“Global security forces face a rapidly evolving set of threats from both emerging unmanned systems and legacy manned platforms, and Autonomy is key to maintaining a credible protection. Anduril is thrilled to announce our partnership with Mahindra — we believe that our two companies together are well poised to bring cutting edge autonomy-enabled capabilities to the Indian market,” stated Greg Kausner, SVP- Global Defence, Anduril Industries.
