MG WindsorJSW MG Motor India has announced that its MG Windsor CUV has crossed the production milestone of 15,000 units. The model has been the top-selling EV for four consecutive months for the company.
The company cited the vehicle's popularity and market performance as contributing factors to the growth of India's EV segment. JSW MG also announced plans to increase production capacity and introduce new models under its MG Select brand. Production is expected to slow down in February due to facility modifications.
The MG Windsor's success is attributed to its pricing, features, and perceived luxurious experience. JSW MG Motor India has implemented initiatives such as BaaS (Battery as a Service), a buyback program, and a lifetime warranty to build consumer confidence in electric vehicles.
Expansion in manufacturing capacity
This success has prompted JSW MG Motor India to expand production capacity at its Halol facility. This expansion also includes preparations for the launch of two new models, the MG Cyberster and MG M9, under the MG Select brand in the first half of this year. The company acknowledges a potential production slowdown in February due to these facility modifications.
“The CUV has been widely accepted by car buyers for its overall pricing and packaging, and for offering a luxurious business-class experience to customers. Smart initiatives such as BaaS, the buyback program, and a lifetime warranty, have all boosted consumer confidence in EVs,” said Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India.
