Chinese carmaker BYD India has announced the price of its new all-electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7, at INR 48.9 lakh. The company unveiled the vehicle at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 on January 18, 2025, and opened its bookings the same day.

According to the company's statement, over 1000 bookings of the model, under its Promotional Booking Policy, have already been received.

The Sealion 7 is offered in Premium and Performance variants, both equipped with an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The Performance variant generates 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque. The Premium variant delivers 230 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque.

“The unveil of Sealion 7 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is a milestone event for BYD India. Combined with our network expansion to over 40 dealers and counting, this response to Sealion 7 furthers our vision for innovative and sustainable mobility in India,” said Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India.

Features

The BYD Sealion 7, classified as a Pure Performance fully electric SUV. This model utilizes BYD's Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) and Cell to Body (CTB) technology. The CTB technology integrates the Blade Battery into the chassis for enhanced safety, performance, and cabin space.

The Performance variant of the BYD Sealion 7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the Premium variant achieves the same in 6.7 seconds. The Performance trim offers a range of 542 kms, and the Premium trim boasts a range of 567 kms (NEDC).

Measuring 4,830 mm in length and with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, the Sealion 7 provides ample interior space.

The vehicle offers a comprehensive driving experience with features like a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, ventilated and heated seats, and a 50 W wireless phone charger. These amenities add to the vehicle’s comfort and convenience.

Design

Designed by BYD's Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger, the Sealion 7 exhibits a sleek and aerodynamic profile. The vehicle's 'OCEAN X' front styling adds to its distinctive appearance.

Other notable features include an intelligent tailgate, dynamic water drop tail lamps, 11 airbags as standard, and Driver Fatigue Monitoring. These features contribute to safety and enhance the overall driving experience.

The interior features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and 128-colour ambient lighting. These features enhance the vehicle's luxurious and technologically advanced feel.

The BYD Sealion 7 also comes equipped with Vehicle to Load (VTOL) technology.
