Ducati unveils the 2025 XDiavel V4

At the heart of the XDiavel V4 is the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, which delivers 168 hp and 12.8 kgm of torque.

Ducati has revealed the new XDiavel V4 at the latest Ducati World Premiere 2025 event. An evolution of the brand’s Sport Cruiser, the XDiavel V4 combines the performance of Ducati’s MotoGP-derived V4 engine with the laid-back, muscular design of a cruiser.

Design

The XDiavel V4 presents a bold, muscular yet elegant aesthetic. Its low and relaxed riding position offers great control, while its design blends powerful performance with refined sophistication. The bike features bold, supercar-inspired shapes and a four-exit exhaust system, which is visible and adds to its striking appearance. It can transform from a cruiser ideal for coastal rides to a dragster ready for action at the green light.

The bike's fuel tank has a sleek new iridescent Black Lava and Burning Red colour scheme, reflecting light and adding to its dynamic appearance. The front and rear light clusters features the signature double C DRL. The attention to detail, such as the 'Welcome Effect' lighting when the instrument panel is activated, speaks to Ducati’s commitment to sophistication.

Performance

At the heart of the XDiavel V4 is the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine, which delivers benchmark performance for the category. With 168 hp and 12.8 kgm of torque, the engine is designed to offer power across all revs. Its counter-rotating crankshaft reduces gyroscopic effect, giving the bike exceptional handling, while the lightweight design (229 kg in running order without fuel) contributes to its nimble performance, the company said in a media release.

The V4 engine also provides a unique exhaust sound, with a Twin Pulse firing order that creates an unmistakable Ducati tone. Additionally, the extended deactivation system allows the engine to operate in a twin-cylinder mode at low revs, offering a deeper exhaust sound when fewer cylinders are active. This feature reduces fuel consumption and emissions, ensuring the XDiavel V4 is both efficient and thrilling to ride.

Chassis and handling

The XDiavel V4’s chassis is designed to complement the powerful engine with precision handling and dynamic performance. The bike boasts a 50mm fully adjustable inverted fork and a cantilever shock absorber, allowing riders to fine-tune the suspension for different riding conditions.

The 240/45 rear tyre and dedicated gear ratios provide excellent traction, enabling the XDiavel V4 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, the company said.

For braking, the bike is equipped with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and 330 mm discs, ensuring peak deceleration performance with a deceleration value of 11.5 m/s². The advanced ABS system further enhances safety, making sure that the XDiavel V4 offers confidence in all riding conditions.

Electronics for enhanced control

To make the most of the XDiavel V4’s performance, Ducati has equipped the bike with an advanced electronics package. Riders can choose from three Power Modes and four Riding Modes—Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet—allowing them to tailor the bike’s performance to their needs.

The Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, and ABS Cornering ensure stability and safety, while the Ducati Quick Shift up/down enhances gear shifting, making it ideal for sport riding.

The 6.9” TFT dashboard, with Bluetooth integration, provides access to these settings and allows for Turn-by-turn navigation via the Ducati Link App. The dashboard also supports smartphone connectivity for calls, text messages, and music, further elevating the rider’s experience.

Comfort and customisation

Ducati has prioritised rider comfort with a low 770 mm seat height, a comfortable and well-profiled seat, and improved suspension travel for better overall comfort. The passenger seat has been increased in size and thickness, while a rear grab handle is provided as standard.

For those who prefer a sportier setup, Ducati offers an accessory kit to adjust footpeg positioning, allowing for a more aggressive riding position. An optional tail fairing also allows the XDiavel V4 to be converted into a single-seater.

Colours and personalisation options

The XDiavel V4 is available in two distinctive colours: Burning Red and Black Lava, both metallic. These colours are unique to the model, with Burning Red offering a look distinct from Ducati’s traditional reds.

For those looking to enhance their XDiavel V4 further, Ducati offers a wide range of accessories, including touring panniers, comfort seats, and a lower seat for a more customised riding experience. For the sportier side, options such as a titanium exhaust, carbon components, and forged rims allow owners to personalise their bike to their preferences.
