Simple Energy has unveiled the Gen 1.5 version of its Simple ONE electric scooter, featuring an extended range and software upgrades. The updated scooter retains the original price and is available for new customers while existing owners will receive the updates via software. The company is expanding its retail presence across India.

The Simple ONE Gen 1.5 boasts a certified range of 248 kilometers, up from the Gen 1's 212 kilometers, making it India's longest-range electric two-wheeler, according to the company. The price remains INR 1,66,000 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), including a 750W charger. This enhanced range addresses range anxiety, a key concern for electric vehicle adopters.

What new does it bring?

The upgraded scooter includes several software improvements. These include app integration, navigation, updated ride modes, park assist, over-the-air (OTA) updates, regenerative braking, trip history and statistics, customizable dash themes, a "find my vehicle" feature, rapid braking, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a USB charging port, auto-brightness adjustment, and customizable tones/sounds.

Existing Simple ONE owners will receive the Gen 1.5 software updates. New customers can purchase the updated scooter at Simple Energy showrooms. The company aims to provide a seamless transition for current users and attract new buyers with enhanced features.

The Simple ONE Gen 1.5 retains its 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 2.77 seconds and over 30 liters of under-seat storage. The software upgrades focus on smart technology and connectivity features, enhancing the overall riding experience.

The app integration provides real-time data, remote access, and ride statistics. Built-in navigation offers turn-by-turn directions. Customizable dash themes, auto-brightness, and personalized tones enhance personalization.

Regenerative braking improves efficiency. Rapid braking and TPMS enhance safety. Park assist, with forward and reverse functionality, simplifies maneuvering in tight spaces. These features combine performance with practicality and user convenience.

The company aims to expand its nationwide presence to 23 states with 150 new stores and 200 service centers.
