Tesla in Trouble: US to Comapny's ‘Full Self-Driving’ System After Killing Pedestrian

The US-based electric car maker Tesla has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. The brand has been criticised multiple times for its advanced self-driving technology as some users call it unreliable. Again! the feature is in the news as it has landed a car driver in soup after failing to respond on time and end up killing a pedestrian on the road.

The report says the incident occurred after the feature failed to detect the person due to low-visibility conditions.

Here’s what Report Says

As per the details shared by the international news agency Associate Press ( AP), the U.S. government’s road safety agency has taken the matter into its hands and begun investigating Tesla’s “Full Self-Driving” system.

Reacting to the incident, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a document said the company had reported the fourth crash due to sun glare impact, fog and airborne dust.

Internet Reaction

When the incident came into the limelight, internet users started slamming the top EV makers on X, formerly known as Twitter. While some expressed anger over Tesla’s Advanced Self Driving System, some blamed the victim for roaming in the low visibility.

One of the users wrote, ” Critics have said that Tesla’s system, which uses only cameras to spot hazards, doesn’t have proper sensors to be fully self-driving. Nearly all other companies working on autonomous vehicles use radar and laser sensors in addition to cameras to see better in the dark or poor visibility conditions.” We really shouldn’t allow people to drive at all if this is the case.”
