Hero MotoCorp former CTO Dr Arun Jaura joins JK Tyre

Dr Jaura has also been a Member of the European Advisory Committee (Automotive) at SAE International since 2016.
New Delhi: Arun Jaura, the former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the country’s largest two wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has joined JK Tyres on Monday.

Dr Jaura resigned from his last position in April last year. Announcing his resignation, Hero MotoCorp said he will pursue personal endeavors. Vikram Kasbekar at the company had been promoted to lead the R&D function.

He joined the two-wheeler maker in 2022 and played an active role in expanding the company’s portfolio. Hero MotoCorp's entry into the EV space, with the Vida scooter, was a major highlight of his stint in the company.

He was also involved in accelerating launches of a slew of products beginning with XOOM 110 cc, LWB Scooters, plethora of OBD2 programs, Karizma XMR, Harley X440, Dragster, revamp of few commuter models.

He played an active role in managing the two R&D and Innovation centers, one in India and the other one in Germany. The engineering team at Hero MotoCorp's Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) grew by a few hundreds during his time, to over a thousand engineers now. It's learnt the team at CIT has filled over a thousand patent applications.

Dr Jaura has also been a Member of the European Advisory Committee (Automotive) at SAE International since 2016.

Prior to Hero MotoCorp, he served at Michelin for over 7 years, where he held the post of Director for almost 3 years and was then promoted to managing Director for the later years.

Dr Jaura has an expansive career working across major companies including Mahindra & Mahindra, Eaton Corporation, and Traktion. The veteran technocrat has held board positions, country & regional roles across the continents.

He started his career in 1996 at Ford Motor Company, where he was associated for close to a decade.
