Blue Energy Motors partners with Maharashtra govt for INR 3500 crore e-truck manufacturing plant

Blue Energy Motors Ltd., a partner in Essar’s green mobility initiative, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government at the World Economic Forum in Davos to invest INR 3500 crore in manufacturing 30,000 electric trucks starting in 2025-26. This investment aims to boost the state’s EV manufacturing infrastructure and create over 4,000 jobs. The facility will include R&D, battery-pack production, motor manufacturing, and charging stations.

Blue Energy Motors plans to invest INR 3500 crore in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. This investment is projected to generate direct employment for over 4,000 individuals. The Maharashtra government signed the MoU with Blue Energy Motors at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

What all does it include?

The proposed facility will manufacture 30,000 electric trucks and incorporate advanced R&D capabilities. It will also include a battery-pack production line, a motor manufacturing unit, and charging stations. The project is expected to commence in the fiscal year 2025-26. This initiative is part of Essar's green mobility program.

This investment will enhance Maharashtra’s EV truck manufacturing infrastructure and contribute to industrial growth. The manufacturing plant will produce AI and ML-enabled electric commercial vehicles designed for efficiency and reliability while reducing carbon emissions.
