Zelio Ebikes unveils e-rickshaw 'Tanga' at EV India Expo 2024

With Tanga, we aim to bring the same innovation, reliability, and eco-friendly solutions that have made our electric two-wheelers a success.
Zelio Ebikes, a prominent player in India's electric two-wheeler sector, has expanded its portfolio to include e-rickshaws with the introduction of Tanga by Zelio at the EV India Expo 2024 in New Delhi. The Haryana-based EV manufacturer, recognised for its rapid success in the electric two-wheeler market since its inception in 2021, unveiled two e-rickshaw models at the event. This strategic move comes in response to the growing demand for shared mobility solutions and Zelio 's commitment to providing sustainable transportation options.

EV India Expo

The EV India Expo, an international platform for showcasing electric vehicles, served as the launchpad for Zelio 's latest venture. The event attracted electric vehicle manufacturers from across the globe, displaying innovations in electric passenger cars, scooters, motorcycles, buses, and more. Focusing on cutting-edge transportation solutions and environmental sustainability, the expo provided an important platform for industry leaders and consumers to connect.

“We have been receiving numerous inquiries about expanding into shared mobility solutions like e-rickshaws. Given the high demand for this mode of transport across India, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas, we decided to enter this space. E-rickshaws play a critical role in last-mile connectivity and affordable transportation for millions of people. With Tanga, we aim to bring the same innovation, reliability, and eco-friendly solutions that have made our electric two-wheelers a success. Drawing on our experience and commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable products, we are confident this new offering will transform the way people commute in India. Additionally, our focus will be on creating a dedicated dealership network to ensure customers receive specialized support and services for this category,” Kunal Arya, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Zelio Ebikes.
