The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Lamborghini has made a statement on electric cars recently. In an interview, he informed that the brand is not gearing up for any electric supers cars soon.
The statement comes at a time when top luxurious manufacturing shifted thier focus towards battery-powered models, instead of ICE vehicles.
As per the details shared by Teambhp, quoting the top official where he said, “At the moment, now, the time would not be right for an EV, at least not in a super sports car. You have seen a lot of (electric) cars on the market that were not successful, he added.
In addition, the CTO revealed that the company brand has always prioritised “unhinged hooliganism” over performance, and it will remain the ultimate goal when Lamborghini fully moves towards electrification.
According to the report, the Italian performance-oriented carmaker is aware they have to bring an EV to their lineup. However, the company feels that the EV in the supercar segment is supposed to check all the expectations of the brand and be true to its brand values. The EV is supposed to offer visceral excitement rather than just horsepower or straight-line speed, the report says.
