KSRTC to Roll Out 20 New Airavat Club Class Buses This Month

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to enhance its luxury fleet with 20 new Airavat Club Class buses by the end of this month.

According to Deccan Herald, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy recently inspected these new Volvo 9600 model buses at the Volvo manufacturing factory near Hoskote. The induction of these state-of-the-art buses marks a significant upgrade for KSRTC, which currently operates 443 luxury buses.

Each new bus costs Rs 1.78 crore and features powerful halogen headlights, daytime running lights, and rear fog lights to ensure better visibility. The revamped design includes updated interiors and exteriors, an aerodynamic shape, and advanced engines that promise better fuel efficiency. Additionally, the buses have increased dimensions, including wider windshield glass to reduce blind spots.

Safety is a top priority, and the new buses will be equipped with a Fire Alarm and Protection System (FAPS). This includes water pipes with 30 nozzles installed on either side of the passenger seats, providing enhanced safety during fire emergencies.

With these additions, KSRTC aims to offer passengers a safer and more comfortable travel experience.
